Malled

It's beyond cliche to go to the Mall of America for shopping articles these days, but that said, this NY Times article on malls in our New Great Depression is really interesting and well-done.

I toured the Mall of America when it was still under construction, and it still holds a special place in my heart. I don't get all the people who sneer at it as a sign of all that's wrong in our society. It's just a place, with goofy, pop-culturey stores, and the experience you have there tells a lot more about you than it does about the mall.
