One of the most hyped up brands during the recent Sephora sale was undoubtedly Surratt Beauty, whose products seemed to sell out lightening fast online, as soon as the code was active. I had my eye on the Artistique Blush in the shades Ponceau and La Vie En Rose and a shade or two of their Lipsliques, but I only managed to snag La Vie En Rose by the time I placed my order.
The brand's single blushes and eyeshadows come in what is essentially a depotted form, as they offer palettes to allow one to mix and match the pans. The plastic covering on the blush is actually somewhat sturdy anyway, and I feel comfortable enough keeping the blush in my makeup drawer, as is, without inserting it into a palette if I don't want to. The same does not apply if it were to be thrown into a makeup bag, however, because the cover tends to slide off quite easily. True story: I've literally gone to slide open the blush and had it slide right off onto the floor, while still holding the lid in my hand looking perplexed. Also true story: I did the exact same thing about three more times within the same week.
Surratt Beauty Artistique Blush in La Vie En Rose ($32) is a plummy rose with a satin finish. When choosing among their ten blush shades, La Vie En Rose was the easy choice, albeit a somewhat non-interesting one. It's a shade that I tend to gravitate towards often, as it's easy to pull off and neutral enough to complement most any look. The texture of the Artistique Blush is sublime. I noticed this most when I swatched it with my fingers against a few other shades shown later in this post. It feels like silk, even compared to other blush formulas that I consider to be fantastic as well. It's so smooth, doesn't fluff up any powder, applies seamlessly and wears all day.

Surratt Beauty La Vie En Rose is most similar to Tarte Exposed, although it is a bit deeper and more rosy. It's a beautiful shade for everyday wear, and the formula is tough to beat. All in all, I'd say the hype on these blushes is more than justified.
