17 best smelling flowers in the world

Hello ladies,

today I wanted to tell you which flowers I think smell the best.

1. Chocolate Flower

Did you know there was such a thing as a chocolate flower? Well, now you do!

2. Gardenia

The gardenia is a thick leaved white flower that can be bought at the garden center, but the flowers may not bloom for very long. They have a tropical, sensual scent that instantly takes you to exotic places.

3. Hyacinth

Hyacinth is one of the first flowers in Spring that give off scent, and how! The scent instantly makes you happy.

4. Jasmine

A big jasmine bush a must for your garden. When the bush is blooming, a mysterious, musky scent may creep into your bedroom at night and will make you dream of love.

5. Lilly

Aah lillies. Especially the big Madonna lillies have the warmest, sweetest scent that can fill an entire house with joy.

6. Linden Blossom

In the summer, linden trees take you back to your childhood with their buttery, vanilla like scent.

7. Lotus

Lotus flowers have a subtle fresh scent that makes you want to hop into the shower for some pampering.

8. Lilly Of the Valley

The crisp white bells have a delicate but oh so fresh, lemony dew like scent that will make you yearn for days gone by.

9. Plumeria

One of the most expensive oils in the world comes from the plumeria flower which grows in Polynesia. Many brands try to copy this highly precious scent using tiare oil (a mix of coconut and plumeria flowers), but the actual oil is so rare it's hard to find. This is one of the most tropical, warm, exotic scents on the planet and the flowers are magical, but if you can't travel to Polynesia, your best bet is to buy the extract absolute or to use tiare oil products.

10. Sweet pea

Sweet peas don't always have a scent, but some smell like honey and other smell of real Belgian guimave. It lightens up the terrace during august and september.

11. Rose

Of course, course. A real rose will have a calming lemony, balmy scent carried by the wind.

12. Lilacs

Not everyone is a fan of lilac scent, and some are allergic to these flowers. When you think about it too much, lilac can smell too powerful and a little toxic, but when taken in from the distance it can surely be enjoyed as much as lily of the valley.

13. Stephanotis

These vine like plants with trumpet like white flowers resemble the gardenia in scent, as well as its ability to bloom indoors (read: doesn't live very long).

14. Viburnum

A lot like the jasmine, the viburnum can have a magic effect during warm spring nights.

15. Butterfly bush

Butterfly bush has a very unique scent, as if all the scents mentioned were combined and mixed with honey and sugar. No wonder butterflies love this bush.

16. Ylang Ylang

Another tropical scent that seems to be a bit like plumeria, but a bit of pine scent mixed in. It's lovely to use as a few drops in a pampering scrub (check my blog), but it should not be overused. Too much of this strong scent could cause epilepsy. But when used carefully, this scent takes you away to the rain forest.

17. Vanilla orchid

Orchids are boring. Right? But not vanilla. Vanilla is rare and highly expensive, since demand is high and the benefits are still being researched. Did you know vanilla can help hair growth and weight loss?
